On Monday The Hive in Worcester officially opened it’s doors to the public for the first time. The building is a joint collaboration between the University of Worcester and Worcestershire County Council, and it has caused quite a bit of controversy since work began on building it, not least of which for the bright yellow roof that adorns it and if it is a clear enough day on the Worcestershire Beacon, you can apparently just about see it in the distance from there.
We absolutely adore The Hive. We not only love the outside of the building but also the inside. It has a fantastic business area, children’s area and houses so many books we want to move in amongst them!
For the festival in particular The Hive will be a very important place for us going forward. We hope to hold as many of the Worcester events as possible there next year for the third WLF and hold many more events there for children than we could do this year. We also hope to re-launch our series of Learn : Eat : Perform workshops in The Hive from September, so watch this space for more information.
